Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter, softened
    3/4 c. sugar
    3/4 c. packed light brown sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    2 eggs
    2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. (12 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
    1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    In a large mixer bowl, cream the butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add eggs; beat well.
    Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture.
    Stir in chocolate chips and nuts, if desired.
    Spread batter in greased jelly-roll pan (15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inches).
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
    Cool completely.
    Cut into bars.
    Makes about 4 dozen bars.
