Lemon Nut Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 tsp. baking powder
1 1/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. nuts (optional)
grated rind and juice of 1 lemon
1/4 c. sugar
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar.
Add eggs and mix.
Sift together dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Add nuts and lemon rind.
Pour into buttered loaf pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes.
Remove from oven and pierce in several places with small skewer.
