Brunswick Stew - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. chopped onion
1 bell pepper, chopped
2 Tbsp. margarine
2 c. chicken broth
1 lb. cooked chicken, cut into 1 inch pieces
1/2 c. sliced fresh or frozen okra
3 Tbsp. flour
1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes (undrained), cut up
1 (15 1/2 oz.) can butter beans, drained
1 (7 oz.) can whole kernel sweet corn
1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper
1/3 c. cold water
salt and pepper to taste
Preparation

In large saucepan cook onion and green pepper in margarine until tender.
Stri in chicken broth, chicken, tomatoes, beans, corn and red pepper; bring to boil.
Reduce heat; simmer 15 minutes.
Add okra; simmer about 5 more minutes or until tender. In small jar add flour to cold water; shake well.
Stir into stew mixture.
Cook over medium heat until it boils and thickens.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Yields 6 servings.
