Chinese Fried Walnuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. water
    4 c. walnut halves
    1/2 c. sugar
    salt
    salad oil
Preparation
    In large saucepan over high heat, bring water to a boil.
    Add nuts and bring to a boil.
    Cook 1 minute.
    Rinse nuts under running hot water; drain.
    In large bowl with rubber spatula, gently stir warm nuts with sugar until dissolved.
    Heat oil in a deep frypan until 350\u00b0.
    Add 1/2 the nuts and stir until light brown.
    Strain or cool on cookie sheet.
    Sprinkle with salt to taste.
    Cook remaining nuts the same.
    Cover tightly.
    Will keep well, 6 to 8 weeks.
