Chocolate Lebkuchen(Christmas Chocolate Bars) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 3/4 c. packed brown sugar (1 lb.)
    6 eggs
    4 oz. unsweetened chocolate
    3 c. all-purpose flour
    1 Tbsp. cinnamon
    1 1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. honey or molasses
    2 1/2 c. mixed citron, candied lemon, orange, pineapple and nuts, chopped (preferably blanched almonds)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Sift sugar.
    Beat eggs until light. Add the sugar, gradually beating until well blended.
    Grate and add chocolate.
    Combine flour, cinnamon, cloves, allspice, baking soda and salt; sift.
    Add sifted ingredients to egg mixture alternately with honey or molasses.
    Add chopped ingredients. Spread dough with a spatula into two 9 x 13-inch greased pans. Bake about 20 minutes.
    When cool, ice with chocolate icing or melted chocolate chips and decorate with blanched almonds.
    Cut into bars.
