Leonard Davis' Taffy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 lb. sugar
    3 lb. white Karo
    1/2 lb. butter (no substitute)
    2 oz. paraffin
    1 pinch tartaric acid
    1 c. water
    4 sheets gelatin (from drugstore), dissolved in additional 1/3 c. water
Preparation
    Mix together and add gelatin after mixture reaches rolling boil.
    Cook to 260\u00b0.
    Cool until it can be handled.
    Add flavoring and pull.
    (Leonard pulled it round a rod.)
    Lay it on tile cabinet top in long rolls.
