Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. cornmeal
    1 Tbsp. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 Tbsp. salt
    6 Tbsp. chopped onions
    1 egg, beaten
    1 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Mix and sift all dry ingredients.
    Add chopped onion.
    Combine beaten egg with milk.
    Add to dry ingredients.
    Drop by small spoonfuls into oil.
    When done hushpuppies will float.
    Drain on absorbent paper.
    Yields:
    36-48 small hush puppies.
