Pecan Pound Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. milk
5 eggs
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. mace
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. broken pecan nutmeats
2 tsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. grated lemon rind
Preparation

Cream together shortening and sugar; add milk.
Mix well.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each.
Toast nutmeats; add 1/2 cup to batter.
Add lemon juice and rind.
Pour into greased 9-inch tube pan; sprinkle with remaining nutmeats.
Bake in moderate oven (325\u00b0) for 1 hour and 25 minutes.
Cool 5 minutes. Remove cake from pan; cool on wire rack.
