Brown Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. raisins
    2 c. water or 1 c. water and 1 c. prune juice
    2 tsp. baking soda
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. Crisco
    2 eggs, well beaten
    4 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. nuts
Preparation
    Boil raisins, water mixture and baking soda 2 minutes and let cool.
    Mix sugar, Crisco and eggs.
    Add raisin mixture, then add flour, salt, vanilla and nuts.
    Use 6 Number 2 tin cans greased and floured.
    Fill 1/2 full.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 for 50 minutes, then at 325\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
