Granny Apple Squash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. butternut or acorn squash
    1 Tbsp. oil
    1 tart apple
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1/4 tsp. dried thyme
    1/4 c. brown sugar, maple syrup or molasses
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Heat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Half squash and scoop out seeds.
    Rub cut surfaces and cavities with oil.
    Put, flesh down, on a baking sheet or bake until tender, 30 to 40 minutes.
    Scoop out flesh from squash.
