Garlic-Dill Pickles(Cold Packed) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    35 to 40 cucumbers (small pickling cucumbers)
    2 Tbsp. mixed pickle spices
    1 Tbsp. dill seed
    1 c. salt
    1 c. white vinegar
    2 Tbsp. white sugar
    1 clove garlic (to taste) *
    1/2 tsp. mustard seed
    1 gal. water
Preparation
    Wash and dry cucumbers.
    Place in crock with spices, except what is used to boil (for brine).
    Boil water, salt and vinegar. Let cool to room temperature, then pour over cucumbers.
    Let stand 2 to 4 weeks.
