Schoharie Autumn Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. cubed venison
    1 whole onion (fresh)
    4 carrots, sliced (fresh)
    5 ??? corn, sliced off cob (fresh)
    1 c. sliced green beans (fresh)
    3 c. water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    1/2 Tbsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 c. cold water
    1/4 c. molasses
Preparation
    Brown meat in oil in pan.
    Bring water to boil in large pot. Add vegetables, meat and seasonings.
    Turn down to low to simmer. Cover pot; stir occasionally for 2 hours, approximately or until meat is tender.
    Mix cream of tartar in cold water; add slowly and stir to desired consistency.
    Serve hot with coffee and corn bread!!
