Macaroon Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. egg whites (8 egg whites)
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tsp. almond extract
1 1/2 c. chopped pecans
1 (8 oz.) box chopped dates
28 saltine crackers, finely ground in blender
Preparation

Preheat oven to 300\u00b0. Beat egg whites until they hold soft peaks. Gradually add sugar until thick. Add salt, cream of tartar and almond extract and beat until shiny and thick. Fold in cracker crumbs, pecans and dates. Pour into 2 greased pie shells. Bake 45 minutes, until lightly golden.
