Buttermilk Pies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (9-inch) unbaked pie shells
    2 c. sugar
    4 Tbsp. margarine, melted and cooled
    1 tsp. lemon extract (optional)
    5 eggs, well beaten
    4 Tbsp. self-rising flour
    1 1/3 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation
    Combine sugar and flour; mix well.
    Add beaten eggs, margarine and buttermilk; stir well to combine.
    Add extracts.
    Divide mixture between the pie shells, evenly.
    Place in preheated 400\u00b0 oven.
    Cook for 10 minutes.
    Lower heat to 350\u00b0 and continue baking for 35 to 45 minutes.
    Top will brown and puff up but will settle down as it cools.
    Tastes like an old fashioned egg custard.
