Cherry Crisp - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (No. 2) can cherries
    1 c. sugar
    3 level Tbsp. flour
    1 1/2 c. oatmeal
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 c. brown sugar
    2/3 c. shortening
    3/4 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    Mix the cherries, sugar and flour; cook and cool.
    (If cherries are sweetened, sugar is not necessary.)
    Crumble the remaining ingredients; put one-half on bottom of pan.
    Add cherry mixture and the rest of crumbs on top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
