Mom'S Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 to 3 lb. chuck roast, cut in cubes
    4 medium potatoes, cubed
    6 carrots, sliced
    1 can mixed vegetables, drained
    1/2 small onion, diced
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 can tomato sauce
    1 can whole kernel corn with juice
    beef stew mix (optional)
Preparation
    Brown meat with flour, salt and pepper in skillet with 2 tablespoons oil; set aside.
    In a crock-pot, add vegetables, except corn, and tomato sauce.
    Stir in meat and 1 cup water; stir if desired.
    Add beef stew mix, salt and pepper.
    Last, add corn to fill the crock-pot.
    Cook on low 6 to 8 hours.
    Serves 6 to 8.
