24 Hour Slaw - cooking recipe

1 large cabbage head, shredded
1 large onion, shredded
1 pkg. carrots, grated
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. mustard seed
1 c. vinegar
1/2 c. salad oil
Preparation

Pour 1 cup sugar over grated vegetables; let sit a few minutes. Combine 2 teaspoons sugar, mustard seed, vinegar and salad oil. Let come to a boil and pour over the cabbage mixture.
Mix well, cover and put in refrigerator; stir several times.
Let sit in refrigerator 24 hours, then it's ready to serve.
