Ham And Asparagus Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. margarine
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 c. milk
    1/4 c. mayonnaise
    2 c. diced, cooked ham
    2 pkg. (10 oz. each) asparagus
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 baked 9-inch pastry shell
    1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
Preparation
    Melt margarine in a saucepan over medium heat.
    Stir in next 3 ingredients.
    Remove from heat.
    Gradually stir in milk until smooth.
    Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until sauce comes to a boil.
    Boil for 1 minute.
    Stir small amount of hot mixture into mayonnaise; then stir into hot mixture in saucepan. Add ham, asparagus and lemon juice.
    Cook until heated.
    Turn into a pastry shell.
    Sprinkle with cheese.
    Broil about 2 minutes, or until lightly browned.
