Baked Caramel Corn - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. margarine or butter
    2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1/2 c. light or dark corn syrup
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
    6 qt. popped popcorn
Preparation
    Melt butter; stir in brown sugar, corn syrup and salt.
    Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
    Boil without stirring for 5 minutes.
    Remove from the heat; stir in soda and vanilla. Gradually pour over popcorn, mixing well.
    Turn into two large shallow baking pans.
    Bake at 250\u00b0 for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
    Remove from oven.
    Cool completely.
    Break apart and store in a tightly covered container.
