Apricot Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 oz. pkg. dried apricots
    2 c. all-purpose flour, sifted then measured
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    3 Tbsp. softened butter
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. apricot liquid
    1/3 c. milk
Preparation
    Wash apricots, cover with water and bring to a boil.
    Cook 5 minutes, then drain, saving liquid.
    Chop apricots very fine and set aside.
    Add salt and baking soda to sifted flour and sift again.
    Cream butter and sugar; stir in beaten egg.
    Alternate, adding flour mixture to sugar mixture with milk and apricot liquid. Fold in chopped apricots.
    Bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven in a wax paper lined loaf pan about 50 minutes.
    Will make 1 large loaf or 2 medium loaves.
    Test with toothpick in center to be sure it is well done before removing from oven.
