Deborah'S Sweet & Sour Chicken - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 C. sugar
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/2 C. white vinegar
    8 oz. can pineapple chunks, save juice
    1/4 C. soy sauce
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. minced garlic
    1/2 tsp. paprika
    1/2 tsp. ground ginger
    1 C. chopped celery
    1C. chopped onion
    3 C. cooked, diced chicken
    1 C. chopped green pepper
    1-4oz. can mushrooms, drained
    2 C. regular, uncooked rice
    1-8oz. can sliced water chestnuts, drained
Preparation
    In medium saucepan, combine sugar and cornstarch; stir in vinegar, juice from pineapple, soy sauce, salt, garlic, paprika, ginger, celery and onion.
    Bring to a boil; reduce heat.
    Simmer, stirring constantly until thickened.
