Ham In A Garden - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. cooked ham, cut bite-sized
    2 Tbsp. butter or butter substitute
    1 large onion, chopped
    2 green peppers, diced
    3 cloves garlic, chopped
    1/2 c. chicken stock/broth or vegetable stock
    1 can (14.5 oz.) diced tomatoes, including juice
    1 can (11 oz.) corn niblets, drained or frozen
    1 c. frozen okra pieces
    1 tsp. turmeric
    1 tsp. cumin
    1 bay leaf
    Salt & pepper to taste
Preparation
    In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the butter and add the onion and green pepper, sauteing until onion is light brown. Add the garlic and saute for 2 more minutes. Add the remaining ingredients except the okra, adjust the heat so the mixture is simmering and allow to simmer for 5 minutes. Add the okra and cook for another 10 minutes. Serves 2.
