Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 egg
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. molasses
    1/2 c. shortening
    1/4 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. soda
    3/4 c. boiling water
    1 3/4 c. flour
Preparation
    Mix everything but soda and boiling water.
    Combine soda and water; add to batter.
    Mix well.
    Bake in a 325\u00b0 oven in an 8 x 8-inch pan for 50 minutes.
