Italian Cream Cake With Cream Cheese Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 large eggs
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1/2 c. vegetable shortening
    2 c. granulated sugar
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 c. all-purpose flour (sifted 2 times)
    1 c. coconut
    1 c. chopped walnuts
    1 tsp. vanilla or white vanilla
    1 tsp. coconut flavor
Preparation
    Separate eggs and beat egg whites until stiff.
    Set aside. Cream butter, shortening and sugar.
    Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Dissolve soda in buttermilk; add alternately with flour.
    Beat well.
    Add coconut, nuts and extracts.
    Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Pour into 3 greased and floured 9-inch cake pans, using 2 cups batter for each pan. Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 25 minutes.
    Cool completely, then frost with Cream Cheese Frosting.
