Gingersnaps - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. white sugar
    1/2 c. light molasses
    1 c. shortening
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. vinegar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. soda
    1 Tbsp. water
    5 c. sifted flour (more if needed)
Preparation
    Mix sugar, molasses, shortening and spices in a saucepan; bring to a boil.
    Cool and add vinegar, then eggs one at a time. Beat after each addition.
    Mix soda in the water.
    Combine flour, soda and water with sugar mixture.
    Roll out 1/4 inch thick.
    Cut with 3-inch cookie cutter.
    Sprinkle with sugar.
    Place on greased cookie sheet.
    Bake in 375\u00b0 oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
