Grandma'S Sweetheart Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. butter (room temperature)
    1 c. sugar
    3 c. flour
    2 egg yolks
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt
    currant jelly
Preparation
    In a mixing bowl, cream the butter, sugar and vanilla.
    Beat in egg yolks.
    Add flour and salt.
    Knead and roll into a ball. Cover and chill for 1 hour or overnight.
    Roll into little balls and place on a greased cookie sheet.
    Press thumb into middle of each ball and, using a teaspoon, fill with currant jelly.
    Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for approximately 8 minutes.
    These cookies freeze well.
    Makes 3 1/2 dozen.
