Soft Pretzels - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. warm water
1 1/4 oz. pkg. yeast
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/8 c. margarine
1 egg
3 to 3 3/4 c. unsifted flour
1 egg yolk
2 Tbsp. water
coarse salt or sesame seed
Preparation

Measure warm water into a large warm bowl.
Sprinkle in yeast. Stir until dissolved.
Add sugar, salt, margarine, egg and flour. Beat until smooth.
Add enough additional flour to make stiff dough.
Cover bowl with aluminum foil tightly.
Refrigerate 2 to 24 hours.
Turn dough onto lightly floured board.
Divide into 32 pieces.
Roll each piece pencil shape 10-inches long.
Shape into pretzels.
Place on lightly greased sheets.
Blend together egg yolks and 2 tablespoons water.
Brush pretzels.
Sprinkle with coarse salt or sesame seed.
Let rise in warm place, free from draft, until doubled in size, about 25 minutes.
Bake at 400\u00b0 about 15 minutes or until done.
Remove from sheets and cool on wire racks.
