Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. cooked clams, drained
    1 medium onion, chopped fine
    3 slices crisp fried bacon, crumbled
    2 to 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
    2 c. boiling salted water
    salt and pepper
    3 c. milk or half and half
Preparation
    Fry bacon, then saute onions in 2 tablespoons bacon fat. Simmer potatoes in water until tender.
    Add bacon, onion, salt and pepper to cooked potatoes.
    Simmer 5 to 10 minutes.
    Add milk and bring to boil.
    Add clams and barely heat.
    Serve with a dollop of butter and a pinch of thyme.
    Top with parsley.
