Squash Puffs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. squash, cooked, drained and finely mashed
    1/2 c. self-rising flour
    1/2 c. self-rising corn meal
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 medium onion, grated
    1 egg
    water (drained from squash)
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients, then add enough drained water from squash for consistency to drop with a teaspoon into deep fat to form puffs about the size of hushpuppies.
    Yields 20 to 25 puffs.
