Pecan Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. butter
    6 eggs, separated
    1/3 c. brandy
    3 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    2 c. sugar
    2/3 c. molasses
    dash of salt
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 lb. pecans, chopped
    1 lb. dried currants
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar together; add beaten egg yolks.
    Add molasses and brandy.
    Sift flour, nutmeg, salt and baking powder. Add to mixture.
    Add pecans and currants.
    Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Bake in a loaf pan which has been greased and floured at 275\u00b0 for 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
    Wrap in wine-soaked cloth for storage.
