Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. blackberry jam
    6 eggs
    1 c. butter
    3 c. flour
    1 c. buttermilk
    2 tsp. soda
    2 c. raisins
    1 c. nuts (pecans, walnuts, etc.)
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add eggs; mix well.
    Sift flour before measuring.
    Add spices.
    Sift with soda or add soda in buttermilk. Add flour and milk alternately with creamed butter, sugar and eggs. Add jam.
    Add floured pecans and chopped dates or raisins.
    Pour into large tube pan, floured and lined with brown paper and well-greased.
    Bake in oven at 325\u00b0 to 350\u00b0 for 1 hour or until done when tested with straw comes out clean.
