Beef Barley Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. onions, chopped
    2 c. celery, diced
    2 c. carrots, sliced
    2 c. cabbage, chopped
    2 lb. beef
    6 qt. beef stock
    2 cloves garlic
    12 oz. barley
    24 oz. tomatoes
    1/2 lb. butter
Preparation
    Cook barley and rinse.
    Saute vegetables with butter in soup pot.
    Add stock and meat; simmer 1 hour.
    Add barley and tomatoes and simmer for 1/2 hour.
