Mock Grape Leaf Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. lemon juice
    3 Tbsp. plain salt
    1 qt. cold water
    1 c. white sugar
    1 c. vinegar
    1 tsp. turmeric
    1 c. water or 1 c. beet juice
    1 tsp. pickling spice
Preparation
    Boil solution for 7 minutes.
    Pour over beets and seal at once in preheated jars.
    Leave in canner 10 minutes in order to seal.
