Corn Bread - cooking recipe

1 c. corn meal
1 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
1 c. milk
1/4 c. soft shortening
Preparation

Measure into bowl and stir. Butter pan. Pour into pan and bake at 425\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
