Ingredients

6 egg whites, at room temperature
pinch of salt
3/4 lb. confectioners sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 lb. ground pecans or 2/3 lb. ground pecans and 1/3 lb. ground hazelnuts
Preparation

Beat egg whites and salt until stiff and dry.
Fold in sugar gradually and lastly add the vanilla.
Fold in ground nuts.
Bake on lightly greased cookie sheets or cookie sheets covered with parchment paper at 300\u00b0 or 325\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes until just beginning to brown.
