Ingredients

3 eggs
1/2 c. milk
2 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
4 Tbsp. butter
6 slices bread (French or sourdough, 3/4 to 1-inch thick)
Preparation

Mix first 6 ingredients.
Place bread on greased rimmed baking sheet.
Slowly pour batter over bread; turn bread until it is coated on both sides.
Cover with waxed paper, pressed onto bread. Refrigerate overnight.
Melt butter in skillet and fry bread until golden brown on both sides or bake 30 to 35 minutes at 350\u00b0 until golden brown.
Do not turn in oven.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.
Remove waxed paper before baking.
