Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 tsp. butter flavoring
1 oz. red food coloring
3 Tbsp. cocoa
2 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. soda
Preparation

Cream shortening, sugar, eggs and flavoring.
Make paste of cocoa and food coloring.
Add to the first mixture.
Alternately add flour and buttermilk.
Mix soda and vinegar in small bowl.
Add to butter; blend.
Bake in three 9 or 10-inch pans for 20 to 25 minutes at 350\u00b0.
Let cool completely.
Cover with Red Velvet Icing.
