Gingersnapscreston, Iowa - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 egg
    1/4 c. light molasses
    2 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. each of salt, ginger & Allspice
Preparation
    Beat together sugar, butter, shortening, egg and molasses.
    Add sifted dry ingredients all at once, mixing well.
    Roll into 1-inch balls and drop into plate of sugar.
    Place 2 1/2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 minutes or until top cracks.
