Clam Chowder - cooking recipe
Ingredients

6 or more clams, chopped fine (save liquid)
1/4 lb. bacon or salt pork
2 medium onions, diced
2 1/2 c. raw potatoes, diced
1/2 c. celery, diced
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. white pepper
2 c. boiling water
1 qt. milk
2 Tbsp. butter
cornstarch (optional)
Preparation

Cook bacon or salt pork until crisp.
Add onions.
Saute about 5 minutes.
Add potatoes and celery with seasonings.
Add water. Cover and simmer about 10 minutes.
Add chopped clams, liquid, then milk and butter.
Heat and thicken with cornstarch, if desired.
Stir constantly until creamy.
