Danish Pastry Apple Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. butter
    1 c. milk
    1 egg yolk
    10 to 12 sliced apples
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 egg white
    cornflakes
Preparation
    Mix flour, butter and salt. Mix yolk with milk and add to flour mixture. Roll out half the dough and line bottom and sides of a 12 x 17-inch pan. Sprinkle with cornflakes. Top with apples. Combine sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle on top of apples. Roll remaining dough and seal on top. Beat egg whites until frothy and brush on crust. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 50 minutes. Combine 1 cup powdered sugar and a little milk and drizzle on top while still warm.
