Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    3/4 c. shortening or margarine
    2 eggs
    5 Tbsp. milk
    2 c. all-purpose enriched flour
    2 c. rolled oats
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1 tsp. ground cloves
    1 c. raisins
    1/2 c. chopped nut meats
Preparation
    Measure shortening or margarine while cold.
    Put in mixing bowl to soften at room temperature.
    While softening, grease cookie sheet lightly.
    Sift flour and measure.
    To the flour add soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves and raisins.
    If raisins are sticking together, separate them and dust with flour before adding to flour mixture.
    Stir well with batter beater.
    Set oven at 350\u00b0.
    By now shortening is ready.
    Add sugar and cream well.
    Add eggs and beat well.
    Measure milk and add after eggs.
    Beat well.
    Measure oats and add with flour mixture to the creamed shortening mixture, a small amount at a time.
    Mix well.
