Sweet Crispix Mix - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 (12 oz.) boxes Crispix cereal
2 c. pecan halves
2 c. almonds
14 Tbsp. butter
2 c. packed light brown sugar
1 c. dark corn syrup
2 tsp. vanilla extract

Preparation

Preheat oven to 250\u00b0.
Combine cereal, pecans and almonds in a roasting pan, sprayed with nonstick cooking spray.
Melt butter in a medium saucepan.
Add brown sugar, stirring until dissolved. Stir in corn syrup.
Bring to a boil, over low heat, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat.
Stir in vanilla.
Pour over cereal mixture; toss to coat.
Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
Spread on 10 x 15-inch baking sheets.
Cool.
Break into large pieces.
Store in airtight container.
