Almond Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. margarine (2 sticks)
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 1/2 to 2 tsp. almond extract
    pinch of salt
    1 egg yolk (save egg white for top)
    24 whole almonds
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients thoroughly except almonds and egg white. Pat dough firmly into 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Brush with unbeaten egg white.
    Lightly score the top into 24 bars.
    Place an almond in center of each bar.
    Bake until golden brown in a 350\u00b0 oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
    Cool and cut.
