Cherry Cola Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can (21 oz.) cherry pie filling
    1 1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 pkg. (6 oz.) cherry gelatin
    1 can (12 oz.) cola soda
    16 marshmallows, melted
    1 pkg. (3 oz.) cream cheese
    1/2 pint whipping cream
Preparation
    Mix pie filling, water and sugar together; bring to boil.
    While boiling, add gelatin.
    Remove from heat, stir until dissolved. Pour into a bowl and refrigerate until syrupy.
    Add cola slowly; chill until set.
    Add topping if desired.
    To make topping combine melted marshmallows and cream cheese.
    Mix well.
    Fold in whipped topping.
