Chili - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 Tbsp. shortening
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
2 Tbsp. minced green pepper or 1 small bell pepper, chopped
1 (1 lb. 1 oz.) can tomatoes
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 to 2 tsp. chili powder
Preparation

Combine in a heavy skillet the shortening and ground beef and cook until brown. Add onion and green pepper. Cook over low heat until tender. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer 30 minutes. Add water if too thick. Add 1 (1 pound 1 ounce) can kidney beans, drained. Simmer for 10 minutes longer. Makes 4 to 5 servings.
