Sausage And Lentil Casserole - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. lentils, washed and picked over
1 tsp. salt
2 lb. kielbasa (Polish sausage)
2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
2 medium yellow onions, coarsely chopped
3 cloves garlic, crushed
16 oz. can tomatoes, broken up
1 bay leaf
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. black pepper
Preparation
-
Cover lentils with water and salt.
Cover and cook over high heat.
Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer until tender.
Add water, if necessary.
Slit the casing of the sausage lengthwise and remove it.
Slice the meat 1/2-inch thick; set aside.
