Turtle Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (18 oz.) pkg. German chocolate cake mix
    1 (14 oz.) bag caramels
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1/3 c. evaporated milk
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. chocolate chips
Preparation
    Prepare cake mix according to package directions.
    Spoon half of batter into a greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
    Cake will not test done.
    Cool cake 10 minutes.
