Banana Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. superfine sugar
1/2 c. butter
3 egg yolks
1 c. mashed banana (2 ripe)
1/4 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. walnut meats, chopped fine
2 1/2 c. flour, sifted
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
3 egg whites
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 Tbsp. hot water
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Dissolve soda and vanilla in hot water.
Cream sugar and shortening.
Add slightly beaten egg yolks and banana.
Beat well. Add buttermilk and nuts, alternating with flour which has been sifted with salt and baking powder.
Fold in well beaten egg whites.
Dissolve soda in water and add to mix with lemon juice. Pour into pans.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 minutes, 400\u00b0 for 4 minutes and finish at 350\u00b0 for 19 minutes.
Total cooking time:
30 to 35 minutes.
