Ingredients

1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/4 c. shortening
1/4 c. margarine, soft
1 egg
1 1/4 c. flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

Mix sugars, peanut butter, shortening, margarine and egg.
Stir in remaining ingredients.
Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours. Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
Shape dough into 1 1/4-inch balls.
Place about 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
Flatten with fork dipped in sugar in crisscross pattern.
Bake until light brown, 9 to 10 minutes.
Cool 2 minutes, remove from cookie sheet.
