Applesauce Stack Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    2 c. self-rising flour
    1 stick margarine
    3 eggs (room temperature), well beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    2 cans applesauce, mixed with 3/4 c. sugar
Preparation
    Sift flour, then mix sugar with flour.
    Melt margarine and beat eggs.
    Add margarine, eggs, vanilla and buttermilk to flour and sugar.
    Mix well.
    Grease and flour pans.
    Make five layers. Bake at 350\u00b0 for approximately 20 minutes or until done.
    When cooled, spread applesauce with sugar between layers.
